Take the Mental Health Survey 2023!
Dear doctoral students,
The stress and pressures of doctoral studies put PhD students at a high risk for mental health issues. The DSA is dedicated to improving the health and welfare of PhD students. To better understand the situation of doctoral students at KI, we ask you to fill out the 2023 Mental Health Survey at the following link:
Your answers will be anonymous. The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Achieving a high participation rate is key in demonstrating to KI that student mental health issues are a problem that warrants action. Therefore, we need your answers, regardless of how good or bad your mental health is. Your contribution is vital to helping students in need!
In 2022, a large proportion of students reported feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or unmotivated at least some of the time, and many did not feel adequately supported by their supervisor or general work environment. Naturally, this is something that we as DSA aim to improve. Through the Mental Health Survey, we have been able to demonstrate to KI leadership at departmental and central levels that doctoral students are at high risk for mental health issues and that both work environment and supervisor-related issues play a part. We are also working to communicate these data directly to new supervisors via the supervisor training course.
Thank you very much for your participation! Should you have any questions about the survey, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
