A lot of the work we do as the Doctoral Students’ Association is achieved through our Workgroups. Joining one of them is an excellent way to develop soft skills like communication, leadership and project management. We are running a lot of projects simultaneously and are always in need of more people to help us around. Whether you want to help organise a yoga class or include more information on employment benefits in the PhD Information Booklet, your help will make a real difference in the lives of your fellow doctoral students.
The Student Representation group works with establishing communication platforms for doctoral student representatives at KI. The group also works to coordinate representatives at KI’s central committees.
The group works together with several people at KI to oversee the doctoral education at KI. This entails the evaluation of available platforms such as RIMS, suggestions for changes in doctoral education, participation at the mandatory Intro day course, and collaborating with KI Career Service. In addition, the group is in charge of the PhD Information Booklet.
The group works hard to ensure students’ welfare during their PhD journey. The focus spans from physical and mental health, work environment conditions to migration issues. The annual Mental Health Survey and the communication of the results to KI leadership are the main outcomes of the group.
The Social Events group is responsible for the organisation of mingles for the PhD students, including the DSA pub and the big DSAxKIPA parties. This group works to make sure PhD students also have the opportunity to enjoy leisure time. Wish to help organise events or have event ideas?

The PR group works with distributing information from DSA, and others (E.g. KICC, KI career service, TEDx), to PhD students at KI. We utilise Facebook, Instagram, our newsletter, and of course this website. We also have a blogging team together with KI Career Service!
The group works on organising the PhD Conference, the most relevant conference for any PhD student, independently of their research area. We spend months planning a memorable two-day event for everyone. We are in charge of the content of the conference, and of contacting speakers, sponsors, and the venue.
The Doctoral Students’ Association is a section of Medicinska Föreningen
