Are you a PhD student at Karolinska Institutet looking to attend a conference at a world-leading institution?
On Thursday July 18th and Friday July 19th, doctoral students at the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Biology and Karolinska Institutet will organize a joint symposium. The MRC LMB played a pivotal role in the development of modern molecular biology, and research from the institute has been recognized in twelve Nobel Prizes. Techniques pioneered by the MRC LMB include DNA sequencing and the development of humanized monoclonal antibodies.
This symposium will be an event spread out over two full days, hosted at the MRC LMB in Cambridge (UK). There will be excellent speakers from topics such as structural biology, neuroscience, molecular biology and cell biology. In addition, there will be short talks by students, poster sessions and three workshops (on the structures of science, AI in research and collaborations between academia and industry).
There are forty 4,000 SEK travel grants for participants, to pay for travel and lodging. Awarding of these travel grants will be determined by a committee consisting of doctoral students from KI (2) and the MRC LMB (1). Participant selection will be based on the scientific quality of the abstract and the motivation provided for attending the conference.
