Student & Doctoral Students’ ombudspersons

The ombudspersons act as a support for students and doctoral students at Karolinska Institutet (KI).

Medicinska Föreningen’s student and doctoral student ombudspersons are an independent body from KI, whom you as a student or doctoral student can turn to with questions regarding KI’s rules, or as support in conflicts and other situations that can arise during your time at KI. Matters are treated in confidence, i.e. the ombuds are bound by confidentiality. It’s always free of charge and is available for all students and doctoral students, regardless of membership in the student union.

What can’t the ombudspersons do?

Take sides in the matter and speak on behalf of the student against KI

Decide on the matter

Instruct or get instructed by units or decision-making bodies at KI

Be an appeal body for issues already addressed and dealt with by other entities or decision-making bodies at KI
