Annual General Meeting and Elections 2020
The Election period has just started: it’s time to elect the new generation of doctoral student representatives!
2020 was an intense year for all of us, a year that pushed us to rethink our education, our community and our work environment. We are still facing many challenges, but, slowly and with all the precautions we are going back to a more normal life.
As DSA we never stopped to take care of our community and, thanks to the network we have created this year with the departmental doctoral student representatives, we were able to constantly have feedback from each department and, at the same time, forward all the information we could collect and discuss them at central level. Thanks to all of you, we could face the KI leadership and let our worries and requests be heard and our rights observed.
All of that could not happen without the choice of some of us to dedicate part of our time as doctoral student representatives. Now it’s time to elect the new generation of representatives for 2021.
On October 24th, we will hold the DSA Annual General Meeting, that, due to the current situation, will be for the first time organized online. All PhD students at KI with a valid MF membership can attend the event, express their opinions and vote for their favorite candidate for each position. Remember, to vote is a right and a duty, especially if we want to make a difference in our community at KI. Detailed information about the meeting and the schedule will follow in the next weeks.
But we cannot have an election without candidates. From today, the application period is open. All of you are welcome to apply for one or more position. For many of them there is no needs or any specific requirements or experiences. Let your voice be heard! Represent your colleagues in your department, your doctoral program or in all of KI! Do you have ideas for an event, a seminar, an activity? Do you want to improve the doctoral education or the welfare at KI? This is the moment to write your application and have a chance to contribute actively for a better PhD at KI. Deadline to send your applications: October 16th.

We are also collecting some short videos where this year’s doctoral student representatives will describe what they have done and what their position consists of.
